The nationally-recognized GED offers you an opportunity to earn a GED high school diploma. The GED tests ask questions about subjects covered in high school.

Step 1 - Make sure you qualifyTo qualify for a GED in Kentucky, you must:
- Have a Kentucky address
- Be at least 16 years old and have been withdrawn from school for 90 days
- Pass the official GED Practice Test
Step 2 - Contact a local adult education centerInstructors can help you prepare for the test. You can study for free at the center

Step 3 - Take the testIt costs $60 to take the Official GED test. There are more than 70 official GED testing sites in Kentucky

Step 4 - Receive your resultsYou can view your test results online in as little as three business days.
Your Score
To pass your GED tests you must do two things:
1) Get a total score of at least 2250 on all five tests.
2) No individual test score below 410.
If you pass, your diploma packet will be mailed in seven business days. Congratulations! Now keep going!
If you do not pass, you can study some more and take the test again - up to three times within one year.
